Girls' Day Out!

Fun, food and fabulous in the Scenic Rim...

The Scenic Rim is officially this year’s hot destination! It was recently named as the 8th best region in the world to visit in 2022 by Lonely Planet.

We are passionate advocates for the Scenic Rim and its outstanding natural beauty. The region abounds in local farmers, food producers, wineries and craft beverage producers. So, we have been putting together some special tours to give you a little taste of all the wonderful things on offer.

Our latest tour, Girls' Day Out, runs on the first Saturday of the month from February to November. Come and experience the best in food and wine that this stunningly beautiful region has to offer. It is hard to believe that just 1 hours’ drive southwest of Brisbane you can immerse yourself in a picturesque, Australian country experience.

We take you behind the scenes of some awesome and unique local food producers. You’ll visit a local sheep dairy and watch the milking. Learn about the basics of sheep cheese making from the resident cheese maker, including a discussion on the differences between sheep, cow and goat cheese. Get up close and personal with the sheep for a few sheep selfies! Experience tasting sensational sheep cheese, tea and locally grown coffee. Shop the farm shop for delicious cheeses and cute sheep themed gifts.

Next, we’ll drive you down the picturesque Kerry valley to visit a 6th generation working dairy farm. You’ll meet farmers who are passionate about their animals and their produce. Immerse yourself in the full farm to plate experience. Meet the friendly Jersey cows, pigs and sheep and enjoy more farm fresh tastings. Purchase fresh produce from the farm shop including Jersey Girl artisan award winning dairy items - made by the farmers, right here on the farm. Also, heritage breed pasture raised milk-fed pork; fresh milk and pasture raised Jersey veal and Tommy's Pastured Eggs – from hens free to graze on chemical-free pastures.

We then head to the picturesque Wyaralong Dam. This enormous manmade lake nestles at the base of Mount Joyce. It is a popular recreation area and will host the rowing at the 2032 Brisbane Olympics. Enjoy the ambience of a relaxed lunch and wine tasting at a local winery in a unique location overlooking the Dam. The culinary offerings feature fresh local produce, gourmet lunches and decadent sweet options. There are seven estate-grown and award-winning wines to choose from, as well as other beverages.

Throughout the day you will be able to purchase boutique products from the farm gate shops, so bring your esky and stock up on the freshest local Scenic Rim produce and handcrafted goodies!

Come with a friend, or come alone and make new friends! Pick up and drop off from the Brisbane area is included. These tours take just 11 people, so they are nice and exclusive.

We look forward to showing you around our backyard, on the Scenic Rim’s tastiest food journeys!
